HELP: Apexi EL EGT: damn the probe is HUGE!

Ok, i just got it, and and the probe on that thing is like 5" long or something.. i just wanted to verify this, but you don't actually stuff the WHOLE length of into your exhaust manifold right? the ex. manifold is only like 1.25" in diameter, there's no way it would fit in there..

Also, do i place the probe about 1.5" from the head on the #3 cylinder runner?

only the top inch of the probe is where
the thermocouple makes its readings...

that's all you need for it to make accurate readings...

as for where to place it... usually
about two to three inches from the exhaust port..

Use the probe cutter that came with the kit. Cut accordingly to size.
